Assign feedback to team members for ownership and accountability.

Assignments

Assigning feedback to team members creates clear ownership. The assignee is responsible for moving that feedback forward.

When to Assign

Assign feedback when:

  • Someone is actively investigating it
  • It's been prioritized and needs an owner
  • A team member has relevant expertise

Don't assign feedback that's:

  • Still being triaged
  • Clearly not going to happen
  • Waiting on more information

How to Assign

  1. Open a post from your inbox
  2. Click the Owner field
  3. Select a team member
  4. The assignment is saved automatically

Viewing Assignments

Your Assignments

Filter the inbox by owner to see posts assigned to you:

  1. Click the Owner filter
  2. Select your name
  3. View your assigned feedback

Team Assignments

As an admin, you can filter by any team member to see their workload.

Assignment Notifications

When you assign feedback:

  • The assignee sees it in their filtered inbox
  • No email notification is sent (to reduce noise)

Reassigning

To change the assignee:

  1. Open the post
  2. Click the current owner
  3. Select a different team member

The previous assignee is replaced.

Unassigning

To remove an assignment:

  1. Open the post
  2. Click the current owner
  3. Select "Unassigned" or clear the field

Assignment Best Practices

Assign During Planning

When feedback moves to "Planned", assign an owner. This prevents items from slipping through cracks.

Don't Over-Assign

Not every post needs an owner. Focus assignments on:

  • Actively prioritized items
  • Items needing investigation

Review Workload

Periodically check:

  • Is anyone overloaded?
  • Are assignments balanced?
  • Are old assignments still relevant?

Clear Assignments When Done

When feedback is complete or closed, the assignment becomes less relevant. Some teams clear assignments; others leave them for history.

Assignments and Roles

Only team members can be assigned feedback:

  • Owners
  • Admins
  • Members
  • Portal Users

Portal users (your customers) cannot be assignees.
