Import & Export

Move data in and out of Quackback with CSV.

Import & Export

Import existing feedback into Quackback or export your data for backup and analysis.

Exporting Feedback

Export your feedback as a CSV file for:

  • Backup
  • Analysis in spreadsheets
  • Migration to other tools

How to Export

  1. Go to SettingsData
  2. Click Export Feedback
  3. Choose scope (all boards or specific board)
  4. Click Download CSV

Export Format

The CSV includes:

  • Title
  • Content
  • Status
  • Tags
  • Board
  • Author name
  • Author email
  • Vote count
  • Created date

Filtering Exports

Export specific data:

  • By board
  • By status
  • By date range

Importing Feedback

Import existing feedback from spreadsheets or other tools.

Preparing Your CSV

Create a CSV with these columns:

  • title (required) — Post title
  • content — Post description
  • status — Status name (must match your statuses)
  • tags — Comma-separated tag names
  • author_name — Submitter's name
  • author_email — Submitter's email
  • vote_count — Number of votes
  • created_at — Original creation date

How to Import

  1. Go to SettingsData
  2. Click Import Feedback
  3. Select your CSV file
  4. Map columns to fields
  5. Preview the import
  6. Click Import

Import Limits

  • Maximum 10,000 rows per import
  • Maximum 10MB file size
  • UTF-8 encoding required

Handling Errors

If rows fail to import:

  • Review the error report
  • Fix issues in your CSV
  • Re-import failed rows

Common issues:

  • Missing required fields
  • Invalid status names
  • Malformed dates
