Managing Submissions

Review, organize, and respond to feedback effectively.

Managing Submissions

Once feedback starts flowing in, you need an efficient way to manage it. The inbox is your command center.

The Inbox

The inbox shows all feedback across your boards. From here, you can:

  • Review new submissions
  • Filter by board, status, tag, or owner
  • Sort by newest, oldest, or most votes
  • Search for specific feedback
  • Take action on posts

Filtering Feedback

Use filters to focus on what matters:

FilterUse Case
BoardFocus on one product or area
StatusSee all "Open" posts awaiting review
TagView feedback by category
OwnerSee what's assigned to you
Date rangeReview recent submissions
Vote countFocus on high-demand items

Combine filters to get exactly what you need.

Reviewing a Post

Click any post to open the detail view. Here you can:

Change Status

Move the post through your workflow:

  • Open → Under Review → Planned → In Progress → Complete

Status changes notify subscribed users.

Add Tags

Categorize feedback for easier filtering:

  • By feature area (e.g., "Mobile", "API", "Dashboard")
  • By type (e.g., "Bug", "Enhancement", "New Feature")
  • By priority (e.g., "Quick Win", "Major Project")

Assign an Owner

Assign to a team member responsible for this feedback. Owners can filter their inbox to see their assignments.

Add to Roadmap

Include this post on your public roadmap. Users can see you're planning to work on it.

Write an Official Response

Post a prominent response from your team. Use this for:

  • Acknowledging the request
  • Asking for clarification
  • Announcing decisions

Editing Posts

You can edit user submissions to:

  • Fix typos or formatting
  • Clarify unclear descriptions
  • Update outdated information

Edits are tracked in the post history.

Deleting Posts

Delete posts that are:

  • Spam or inappropriate
  • Complete duplicates (consider merging context first)
  • Off-topic for your product

Deleted posts can be restored if needed.

Workflow Best Practices

Daily Review

Spend 10-15 minutes daily reviewing new submissions:

  1. Open your inbox filtered to "Open" status
  2. Quickly categorize each post with appropriate tags
  3. Change obvious items to "Under Review" or "Closed"

Weekly Prioritization

Once a week, review your backlog:

  1. Sort by "Most Votes" to see high-demand items
  2. Identify items ready to move to "Planned"
  3. Update roadmap accordingly

Respond Promptly

Users appreciate quick acknowledgment, even if you can't commit to building something. A simple "Thanks, we're reviewing this" goes a long way.
